We discussed AT205 Stop Leak for use in the crankcase in another thread and
there were many positive comments.
I was wondering, for a 15 to 20 year old car with good Axle boots might it be
wise to "spritz" and soak them with AT205 to soften and treat the rubber?
Anything to help them not crack and split in the near future?
We have 3 cars around 10 to 15 years old that might be helped by this.
Thoughts Using AT205 Stop Leak to Treat Old Axle Boots?

The accepted practice is to spray those boots with silicone spray to keep them pliable. (Though, I always forget to do this...) It'd probably work...

The silicone will probably help to protect it. The can says not to use it on rubber components, no? I might be thinking of the white lithium grease... I have too many chemicals in my cabinet.
It actually doesn't sound like that bad of an idea, though. These stop-leak chemicals are meant to soften/condition seals, so why wouldn't it work on CV boots?

I used the ATP 205 on a seal for a 10yr old window to make it more pliable and seal better and it helped.
The Silicon doesn't hurt either, there is a product called 303 Protectant that ppl swear by. I started using it on my Hot Tub cover, although it appears to be just like Armor All but ppl say its much better and Armor All will hurt the vinly. I don't know who to believe and if I'm wasting my money on the 303 but I have no way of knowing. One dumb thread can sway a lot of ppl. Maybe I will run a test LOL

From what I've heard, 303 is some great stuff. I've yet to try it because it's so damn expensive, but most auto parts stores carry it now. It looks to be much better than Armor All.

On Amazon, it was free shipping and wasn't too expensive. I don't want to risk damaging a $300 cover so I use it but it is milky white just like Armor All and both I believe have Silicon.bmdubya1198 wrote:From what I've heard, 303 is some great stuff. As for the boot idea, I don't know how long it will last underneath a car exposed to water/salt, etc.

It probably won't last too long under the car just because of it being exposed to water, dirt, salt, etc.
