I need to replace the turbo on my xc70 2002 wagon
with just that info i was told by the parts house that there were 3 possible part numbers that went into that series.
using my VIN # LAST 6 DIGITS (075118) the volvo dealer told me that I would need turbo # 8602396
I have found some used ones on ebay that reference that part # however when i zoom in on the id plate i see a part number that starts with 8658 the rest
is unreadable however a search turns up that number is valid if you look at the rest of it.
my question is
the part number 8602396 is that for the turbo housing which holds the impeller only and not the part past the ring that holds it onto the piece that bolts to the manifold is that the number for just that part and does not include anything past the ring clamp. what i am getting at is 8602396 a number that combines the aluminium turbo and the cast piece together. should the 8602396 indeed be on the plate of the turbo housing itself. to ensure that its the correct part. Im confused thanks for any help

You can get breakdowns and Volvo part numbers at lisle Volvo online..see if you can sort it out there.
Otherwise wait for someone with VIDA to chime in.
Volvo turbos are bulletproof by the way, make sure you need a new one.

The only way I could read my turbo plate reliably was to pull the alum section of the turbo, once I could clearly read the numbers I found a turbo cartridge on ebay for $174. ALL new innards with new drive shaft ... already balanced , my original shaft was broken.
Just an option for you to keep in mind.
Dealer will only quote what he sells, not what other option fits. I found various model numbers would fit.
