I moved the MVS database onto its own specialized database instance at the MVS host Rackspace.
Prior to today, the database was on the same server.
Separating the webserver from the database server in practice yields two benefits (maybe more): more speed and better backup/isolation for the db.
I've got a dependency that needs MySQL still on the MVS webserver, but after I move that off I'll shut down the MySQL service on this machine. It was generally responsible for 10% CPU and many times that number in memory use.

Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.
Also -> Amazon link. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!
