Heater Core

Hey Gang,
Been tearing apart my sons 940 interior due to the heater core leaking. Has anyone been there, done that ? Looking for any tips if there are any.
Does the upper dash have to come out, or can I do this from the console area ? Heat index over 100* today and definately looking short cuts. Thanks for any advise if any. Tom
