Selling my old 850. Got in a wreck back in November-ish. Not had any luck around my area. Figured I'd at least try with some people who care about Volvos before taking it to a junkyard for $50 (I know, right? Insulting).
265 on the engine. Compressor replaced in the last year. Everything else major, I assume, is original to the car from the factory. Good parts car if you don't need a radiator or battery (swapped it with my other 850). I know at least around me, 850s are exceptionally difficult to find in junkyards if you're looking for parts.
Biggest downside - I can't move it, so if you're interested, you'll have to. Car still ran after I wrecked it, and looking under the hood, it looks like the only definitively damaged big-ticket part was the radiator and fan. If anyone is interested, pm me or give me a call/text. I can't keep it where it is, so if I don't have a buyer by this time next week, I'm gonna have to take the $50 from the junkyard for it.

My wife and I worked at a Boy Scout High Adventure Base in New Mexico in '14. Drove that car out there (The trip sold us on Volvos - 1400 mile one-way trip, and we probably put on an extra 3k driving around that summer). One of our days off we went out to eat and brought leftovers back. We left a container with a few onion rings or french fries in it sitting on the passenger seat. Next day we come over and there are muddy paw prints on the hood, trunk, doors, and the side views were snapped off and laying next to the car.Clemens wrote:What's the story about the bear and the mirrors. Always had a good laugh about the time our car survived a bear attack on a cross-country trip

Kinda impressive what bears can do to cars. A long time ago the rangers in Yosemite handed out a photo of a Mk2 VW Jetta where a hungry bear had ripped out the drivers door (not just broke it open, he had snapped the hinges, door was next to the car). And that wasn't even a grizzly.

Agreed. Never run across a grizzly. This was just a black bear
