I looked twice...parked between 2 cars who were taller than me...then I pulled out slowly, but I still hit a racing car that was speeding through the parking lot. Because I scraped the side of his car with my bumper, it will probably be my fault because he didn't actually "hit me." No police called as it was a parking lot...just an exchange of insurance info. The guy driving it works at a auto parts store and was in a leased company car, on his way to deliver an oil filter. So, he has to turn it in to his insurance. I shudder to think what looks like about $200 of repair (very minimal which I offered to have fixed without insurance) will probably cost a grand. My bumper is in decent shape. The paint from his car easily came off with a finger nail, but there is a small gash in it, revealing the black plastic under it and the top of the bumper has cracks in the paint but otherwise is not damaged to the point that a new bumper is in order, or is it? Just curious if once a bumper gets banged if it really needs to be replaced or not. I figure the typical Styrofoam piece is under it.

There's always the idea of just touching up the little gash with factory paint and adding this to cover over where the cracked paint is: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Car-SUV-Rear-Tr ... rmvSB=true
