Is there anyone in CT that knows how to use the Vida system. I live in Newtown, CT and am having a heck of a time diagnosing my 02 S60.
The ETM has been changed twice, the ECM once. Now I'm getting BCM, ECM, CEM TCM, DIM codes.
Car drove fine after it left the dealer the second time (ETM) Then dash goes out, tranny freaks, every warning and hazard message lights up.
Dealer says it would cost a fortune to diagnose. I've done continuity tests on the can bus wires from ECM, TCM ETM to the CEM, everything's fine
no shorts or breaks.
I'm not that skilled in the Vida system so any help would be appreciated  so far I'm in a bout $2400, really don't want to ditch the car or throw money at the dealer. Why don't I have these issues with my 98 V70?

I think most of the folks you'll meet here use VIDA to aid in a diagnosis that they take to the dealer or a reputable independent. Other than trial and error and the help files that often come with the program, I don't know that anyone who doesn't do this professionally would really be of help - and with the issues you seem to be having, could possibly do more harm (probably not damage).

My recommendation is to find a good indie and let them do a proper workup. If the dealer is telling you it would cost a fortune, I would ask why that is. Did they already diagnose and realize it's going to take wire by wire through the entire system to figure out the problem? Or is that their standard answer?

Most indies are charging around $100/hr for diagnostic work. Since you're "24 hours" into that already, I'd probably sink another hour or three into it with a properly trained, experienced tech, rather than spending 6 more hours with some random owner in a Five Guys parking lot.

If you're willing to drive, European Auto LTD in the East Lyme area (just north of the Rt9/95 intersection) has a great reputation. I'm sure there are others closer to you.
