SRS Airbag Service Error Message

Hi

I have a 2003 V70 d5 with an error message displayed stating "SRS Airbag Service". I had the car checked via the hook up module and the airbag system could not be found, in fact no errors showed at that time. This lead the engineer to assume the SRS/Airbag module was not being powered up. Does anyone know where the module/power supply or fuse for this unit is?

I have checked the fuses and they appear to be in tact (three boards in this model).

Aren't you still under warranty with an '03? Seems this is something for the dealer to worry about and fix so that you as the owner doesn't have to worry about such things.

I think warranties in Europe tend to be quite a bit shorter than they are here unfortunately. Graham, SRS module errors can only be accessed with a special Volvo scan tool or a specially built interface tool that is hooked up via laptop. Soo... the quickest way to determine the exact problem is to have the Volvo dealer scan it with their tool. A generic scan tool won't work.

Everything you've been told so far is true. The SRS light can be turned on by doing electrical work on your car without disconnecting the battery, for instance. Barring that, its a 30 USD reset at the dealer. They're also the only place that can diagnose any possible faults. Good Luck!
