Another heater hose thread... (2017) URO Heater Hoses made in Thailand?

Post by theWIFES_S70 »

I know, I know... I'm ordering the OE Volvo hoses. (And hopefully will get some stickers in my package, too 8) !!)

But has anyone else noticed that eEuroparts is only carrying silicone and URO heater hoses...

They have their place I guess. If they are 1/6 the price of OEM, I would consider buying two sets and keeping one in car.

Maybe.

Maybe not.

I rebuilt mine using Gates heater hose, it costs about $10 with generic Gates hose.
Info for rebuild in forum.

If it carries fluid or vacuum don't use URO.

hahaha, nothing riles up the MVS family like talk of URO! I know, I'm biting the bullet and going OE. This is my wife's car after all.

I was wondering though, were the old URO hoses made in China or have they always been made in Thailand?? I've read that rubber from Turkey or Thailand is usually good (or better) quality than what you get from China. Was just curious. eEuroparts only having those two options is strange to me...

Where are the OEM hoses made? Be curious to hear once you receive them. These days quite a few OEM parts are made in China, maybe eEuro figures Thailand is an upgrade.

I'd gladly take Thailand over China or Mexico.

cn90, do you have to use those springs to put bends in the heater hose lines?

I've been driving around with a roll of Gates 5/8 hose in my trunk just in case. Guess I'm just nervous...
