reprogramming of tcm... Not ecm...? my bad...
Hello out there....I am really concerned about an issue that an auto shop created for me....I took my '99 Volvo s70 there and they replaced the ecm and then I drove away and the hard shifting was still an issue so I took it back to them and they told me to take it to a Volvo dealer to have it reprogrammed....I did and then they told me they could not because of non-sharing of certain parts so the Volvo dealer/shop suggested that I send in the ecm and have it rebuilt and "possibly" they can program it to communicate with my car....I said, "if they have the necessary software to do this then why are you guys having trouble with this one..?" and he just shrugged and ????? appeared on his forehead....My question is "what place do I send this to be fixed and does anyone know if they may be able to reprogram it to work with my car....? I sure hope I can get my car back to running order....any information, feedback will appreciated....thank you....Gregory....

If vehicle could be converted to a stick transmission, one could MegaSquirt it...otherwise, Volvo, like GM, and others, want your money.
