Hi all,
I recently purchased a 2004 v70r, and want to get set up with some scan software. I've done this with my Audi, but not with Volvo. When I check Ebay, they have Vida Dice units, and they all say the 2014D is the latest version. Some say they include "full chip", etc. I assume you get one of these scanners and load software on a compatible laptop? Can you do more than just read fault codes with these?
If anyone can point me toward the proper one to buy, it would be a big help. No current problems with the car, but want to be prepared.
Educate me on Vida?

Rather than writing a whole lot of what already exists, I'll point you to the Diagnostics/VIDA/DiCE/OBDII VRD category.
Inside that category are posts like
What is DiCE?
Is VIDA Dead?
VIDA DICE: What to buy?
Here are Volvo's DiCE installation instructions PDF.
And here is the VIDA/VADIS/DiCE MVS Forum forum, where most of the above originates.

Help keep MVS on the web -> click sponsors' links here on MVS when you buy from them.
Also -> Amazon link. Click that when you go to buy something on Amazon and MVS gets a cut!
