I am trying to get an original radio put back in my 85 240. i was able to pick up a cr-4123 from voluparts today but the cable between the radio and the 9 pin square plug is missing. I just want to bypass the plug on the radio and just straight wire it to the harness that was left in my car.
unfortunatly even though i have found a picture of the cable attached to the radio I don't know what the pinout is or what color wires do what can anyone tell me what the pinout is or what the wire colors mean. even if someone could just get me a good picture of the cable i think i could figure it out.

Volvo 240 1985.pdf has your answer.
I think it would be easier to get a radio plug from a junkyard. Better yet, install a reliable aftermarket head unit. After looking at the wiring diagram this radio only powers front door speakers.
