"The Heat is On: Faulty A/C Problems Raise Questions—and Temperatures....Drivers of popular General Motors vehicles nationwide say they are in a fix: the A/C in their newer-model trucks is not working, and repair parts are nowhere in sight."

There's no financial incentive for GM to correct these issues beyond owners getting fed up and buying something else (not GM) on their next new car purchase. This is what happens when a failed company is allowed to reorganize while leaving most of the existing management in place. Inevitably they will find a way to run it into the ground again.
Reminds me of Chrysler in the 80's-90's. Instead of correcting design issues they think they can keep sales up by plastering sales adverts and promotions all over the media. In the longer term consumer word of mouth rules the game and it doesn't work.
I think Volvo under Ford was dangerously flirting in that territory by the time the P3s started rolling out. With the exception of a (fully loaded) C30 or XC90 the sedans weren't terribly good looking anymore and probably not worth the price. But that's changing since Greely picked them up. Backing Volvo with capital to address longer term viability so as not to end in the same hole they were by the late 2000s: either make them nicer and raise the price or increase production volume...or a little of both as it would appear.
GM still the same...10 years later...
