rotor question-and howdy

Post by Da Towd »

Howdy Gang,
Great to find this site.
my name is Hank
we live out in the sticks of British Columbia
and most of my family drive Volvos( our son drives a jacked up Toyota pick up)
mine Sven the road warrior '83 245- 295k
my wife's '90 245 Black Beauty- 160k
youngest daughter drives a clean '81 244 w/180k Kermit
oldest daughter drives a '88 745 with 180k Goldie
I have a couple of "one of these days" cars waiting to be recycled
a '64 122-S Canadian and '71 144-S

My question
Goldie's brakes pulsate when you press hard so I think the rotor might be warped. Just wondering if the front vented rotors from a 240 are the same size as what would be on a '88 740?
thanks
hank

Warped rotors on a 700 series is a common problem, especially the pre 1990 without ABS which all had 10.25" rotors. To answer your question NO the 200 seires rotors will not fit the 700 series. I would suggest that you buy a good set of aftermarket rotors, I have had the best luck with Brembo, you should be able to find a supplier in Vancouver, if not iPd sell them (www.ipdusa.com)
