I am looking at a 2004 V70 with 205,000 mi. What appears to be the tracs light on the dash is illuminated yellow and not sure what that means. Have dealt with the ABS on older Volvo, particularly my '98 V70, which was a relatively simple fix.
Stealership is asking 1590 for it.
What might I be looking at here as an issue?

I'll also note that the triangle is red during the start cycle and then turns yellow. I am looking around and this appears to be more that just a abs/tracs indicator? It appears it could mean anything from a bulb failure to low coolant?
Sorry, I come from the pre- 2000 Volvo world so this is new to me. Will I need a Vida to read the issue?

You've got a message display in the lower left corner, it's activated by the end switch/wheel at the turn indicator. With a yellow arrow, warning messages should appear with the ignition key on, give them a read, turn the wheel to display them all. Then click at the end button and scroll to read the average mpg, always a good check.
The abs thing could be as small as a broken reluctor ring or a loose axle bolt, or as big as an ABS pump motor or even a faulty ABS module - this one you'll have to remove it and replace it with a used unit or send it to Xemodex. Guessing the ABS pump/module since the owner declined the $2000 job and sold the car for peanuts.
If the car displays other weird warning messages while driving, it may be the CEM module with the common water ingress issue for the 2004 and up models. Google up about it.
While there, have a look at the front lower control arm, in particular the rear bushing, if it looks cracked it may indicate the car needs repairs. And don't forget to test the PCV sytem (youtube) and the transmission shifting ideally with the car fully warmed up. Finally, I'd ask the dealer to show the list of repairs on their computer, it may give you a good indication of the maintenance done.

Have similar ABS issue with 2004 XC-70. Is this likely fixed by an ABS module repair (see below) or something else?
ABS light is on upon ignition but scrolling through the message display in the lower left corner, activated by the end switch/wheel at the turn indicator with ignition on, shows "no messages". ABS light was intermittent (only on some start-ups) but is now consistent (on all start-ups). However, Autel shows DTC "BCM-0022 Wheel sensor, right front; Mechanical error" plus several errors in other modules (below) but none related to ABS and none that trigger the CEL. I've delayed addressing the other DTCs as they seem non-essential but the ABS can be important and there is always the issue of passing inspection in October 2017.
As did the OP, I also previously addressed multiple ABS error codes in my 1998 V70 T5. This required only a simple and inexpensive ABS module rebuild by a certain Midwestern company. Problem solved for 6 months and counting.
Is my (our) 2004 XC-70/V-70 problem likely to be corrected by a rebuilt the ABS module? Or do I (we) actually need to track down specific ABS faults?
Thanks.

To see which modules have codes you hold the READ button on end of turn sig lever and then depress rear fog light button on light switch (rh buttton) twice and then release READ button while key is on, engine on or off, but vehicle has to be sitting, not moving. The left message display panel will indicate system check and then will have one of these for each module: CHECKING- no codes but the diag is not complete, READY- no dtcs with diag complete, or DTC SET. There is no way to see which DTC but you can know if one is present.
Yu go through each module status by push and release of the READ button.

Inspect the reluctor ring, if it's rusted it may be cracked at some point - have a garage lift the car and turn the wheels
It may also be one of the black square relays on the CEM box.
