Buying parts? Please buy from MVS sponsors. It helps me keep MVS on the Web, hosted at a decent hosting company able to serve pages up quickly, and it allows me to publish History of the Volvo 5-Cylinder, for instance.
volvooempartsdirect.com - promo code MATT
myswedishparts.com - promo code MVS5
voluparts.com
fcpeuro.com
eeuroparts.com - promo code MVS
ipdusa.com
Whoever you buy from, tell them MVS sent you. Even if it's a promo code. Parts retailers are not always 100% at tracking where their sales come from.
Without sponsors, MVS wouldn't be as nice as it is. Help keep it top quality. Thanks very much.
Matt

Ok, sorry. Just so you know, at least 95% of my parts come from IPD, even when I've had failures with their HD parts in the past and re-ordered aftermarket parts to replace them. I've also had issues with parts from FCP Groton, but I still order parts from them too. In the future, I'll leave my explanations for parts purchased from competitors more generic.

Hi grntrdbx, no need to apologize or explain. I'm just asking MVS'ers to buy parts from this list of vendors. To those here already buying from these guys, just pop in a quick "MVS sent me" with the order.

There is a great deal of pressure on forums these days with big, corporate players pushing in... Reddit, Fixya, Quora and many others. They had 0 effect just say 6 years ago. But now it's different.
They take some of my casual users, so I try to get users back via publishing good content and making sure the forums here work and are organized well.
All the while vendors have more choices on where to advertise... Google AdWords, Facebook, etc. It's rough.
I need to keep my advertisers or else the time I spend here I'll have to do something else with to put food on the table for my son and me.

Regarding whenever ordering parts online and mentioning MVS isn't a problem and actually would be my pleasure, however I've been disappointed with IPD's inventory on more than one occasion. My head gasket on my V70R let go and I was prepared to order everything that entailed changing it..( gasket kit, water pump, head bolts, tensioners, belts, etc, etc.. to find that less than half the parts needed were not in stock. I would have loved to give them the business but unfortunately ended up buying everything locally. Maybe next time..
