Request - Advice for New s60 Buyer

Post by Riverbank Base »

I am in the happy position of having bought a new 2006 s60 2.5T AWD and will take delivery next week. It looks like a great car, and the end-of-year pricing was terrific.

Being new to the Volvo Nation, I would be grateful for any tips on things I should look out for during the adjustment period. For example, I see from various posts that there may be some question about the factory setting the seat temperature too low.

Any other tips would be much appreciated. What would not be appreciated would be posts with respect to "how lousy the s60 is".

Well I don't know much about the Volvo 60 series, whatever guise it takes, but I always say that whatever vehicle you like and want, good luck to you and I wish you many happy miles of trouble free motoring.

I looked up your previous posts and would point out that the debate on grammar is a rare occurrence on these pages. If you want to see real pedantics in action go to the Volvospeed forum. They make criticism of spelling, punctuation and grammar into a veritable art form.

Matthews Volvo Site is, in my opinion, the best Volvo help going.

Thanks, Bill. Having come over from my own SAAB story I am too well acquainted with the love/hate conundrum.

As for the pedants, they might be directed to some eats, shoots and leaves board to get their jollies.

Indeed, this site looks great. The there/their post just seemed too out of place not to comment.

this reminds me of my dad's S80 (1999). the rearview mirror does not darken enough. so yes, good advice. JRL, is this a dealer-software-adjustable item?

i have Eats, Shoots and Leaves :) ... good book, although i'm not one for much capitalization!
