I had an oil change and right after the engine blew out oil everywhere under the hood.I found the dipstick out about three inches. I checked the oil level and it showed just over full after all that oil came out. I believe the shop overfilled it. They are saying it happened because of a faulty pcv valve but we had no problems with the car before the oil change so that would be one hell of a coincidence.
My questions are can overfilling cause the oil blow out?
Can overfilling cause the pcv valve to clog causing the oil blow out?
Any thoughts? Thank you

Did they install the oil cap? You would hear the PCV system in our cars whistling as a symptom of the clogged PCV. If you had no other symptoms before hand, I would say they did something to your car. Not sure about over-filling it but once cleaned up and oil topped off to the correct level were things solved? Btw, there is a recall on your model year's PCV, depending on the VIN. Check with your dealer to see if you qualify. If it's truly bad and you do, it's a free swap out to a new one.
