Aftermarket lower control arm is shorter?

Post by 1volvo2many »

Hi there. I've purchased a Lemforder lower control arm (front, 2001 XC70) and it's a good inch and a half shorter than the original. Is this normal? Will it harm anything? Thanks.

If they are 1.5" off on each side, there HAS to be a problem.
A 3" narrower track width in the front end would look obvious.

By "shorter" you mean the original 'reaches out' more?
The mounting points (rear stud and forward cylindrical bushing) are the same, yes?

I'll bet they sent you a control arm from a non-XC model.

Thanks for the replies. I believe their site is incorrect. I purchased a set of two for the front listed as matching the X/C. However, when you search for each one individually you get a different part number (Lemforder).
