Sunroof issue 98 v70

My sunroof needs rebuilt. Pretty much all of the tracks, arms and everything that helps it to move are toast. Is there any easy fix for this that’s cost effective? There are a few bent pieces as well. The closest PP is 3 hours away. So if there’s anyone who’s got one or is making a PP run let me know.

Easiest thing to do is replace the unit.

Yes replace- I tried to repair using a working unit ended up with two non working ones- removing the unit is easy the issue is removing the headliner- at the picknpull you can cut the headliner and get it out in under 10 minutes- the one I cut was already ragged so I didn't feel too bad

I have many of the parts after disassembling but agree with the guys who have replied as the easiest thing is to replace with the complete cassette unit pulled from a car as it can be a bear to re-assemble and get it aligned. Even the dealers shudder at the thought. Main thing to check is the condition of the frame of the moonroof itself to make sure it has not swollen with rust.

Oh and check that the glass isn't loose in the frame- you can swap the glass units easily but if they move in the frame they will leak- you can re-glue them- and make sure to re-attach all 4 drain hoses well otherwise you may get a wet lap

Sounds as if the unit will be replaced. Is there anyone in a dry climate who’s Junkyard is close, willing to hook a Brother up and send it my way? Everything here is wet and closest 3 hours away.
