My first Volvo! 89 740 GLT except I had the red leather interior and different alloy wheels. I don't remember ones like those being offered. June

Aloha June, this model is the 740 Turbo Intercooler, which is a little different than your 740 GLT.
You are correct, in that these are not the original wheels. It originally came with the "Draco" style wheels, often referred to as the "cookie cutters".
These are the Pegasus 'R' type wheels that came off a newer Volvo. As Justin Timberlake sang.... "I'm bringing sexy back..."
Warmest Aloha...

I was not saying anything bad, in fact I would have opted for those wheels, but I just couldn't remember them in what I was shown. They kinda look like my 850s wheels to my memory. My 740 GLT is a car I regretted trading, kicking myself again looking at that one. I sure wish I had it today. That car is gorgeous! Had it had the flame red leather like mine it would be even more of a eye popping car. June

Mine looked as I recall like that except the wheels, grille was chrome I think, and trunk lid said 740 and GLT which for 89 was the best sedan they had I was told. I traded in my 86 Park Avenue Coupe. I loved that turbo engine. It really started my love affair with Volvo turbos. Is your car newer than a 89? You didn't mention the year. The flame red leather (not burgundy)was additional money as I recall, but I didn't care it was showy and I was young back then. June,
Mine is a 1989. Yours was indeed the more "luxurious" model.
Mine was built for speed (with the turbo and intercooler)
I see you've had quite the collection of Volvo's. Very nice.
Mine is for sale if you want to relive the good 'ol days of a 740! Haha!

I used to trade every few years until Volvo quit making the 2.9 T6. I learned of you really love the car better than the new offering. Keep the one you have or regret it. I have driven Volvo cars for 29 years now.
Hawaii is quite a drive from sunny Florida! She might even sink on the way!
