1992 240 auto trans

92 240 with auto trans does not feel like it is going into 4th gear. fuel mileage seems excessive. overdrive solenoid is hard wired to shifter wires, not a plug in like I've seen in parts pages. can hear click when button on shifter is pushed. any help is helpful thanks.

I removed the solenoid to inspect. it was flat across the bottom as if it were a block off plate.so I assume it would be just like having a block off plate.

so bought a new solenoid ,installed and now have 4th gear. thanks for the help.
