transmission won't go if a little hot

I Have a Volvo S60 2.4T 2002.
It moves when cold but when in gets warm after a few minutes it stops. If I leave it set for a short time , it will move again.
Is this a common problem? How do I repair?

Is there a way to have an onboard computer determine fault? If so, how?

Pull the transmission dip stick and check the color of the transmission fluid, report back. If your in good luck, the fluid is breaking down and replacing the transmission fluid will resolve the issue.
