S60 2.5T Headlights

Post by S60dad »

I have recently purchased upgraded bulbs (Silverstar) for my vehicle. Upon opening the hood and seeing where the access port is, well just how does one fit their hand into the space to remove the bulbs??
Looking in the owners manual it seems fairly routine. Does the entire lamp housing have to be removed?

I assume your car is setup very much like our V70...wow, what a tight fit! Either squeeze your hand in there and in cramped quarters, twist the bulb housing cover off or get someone with smaller hands to do this for you. I couldn't believe that they expect us to do a routine bulb change with hardly any room to manuever either. Once the cover is off, the next trick is to squeeze the wiring to get the bulb out. More challenging than that was getting the new bulb back in for me. My first attempt at the bulb on the drivers' side which has more space than the passenger side took about an hour with most of the profanity I know bellowing forth from my mouth (apologies to the neighbors). The next change took much less time as I understood exactly how things work. Good luck!

Thanks for the heads up. I too expressed myself in a rather brash way, but kept the garage doors closed in doing so.
I'll post my progress and thanks again.
Cheers!
