Any thoughts? Still doing research on common R problems- looks like the angle gear and clutch were both recently replaced.

Bad buy, $2700 is more then dealers retail for a 2005 S60R with 150,000 miles in rough condition. That one is not rough, it is damaged. I would not give more then a couple of hundred dollars for it because after fixing the front end damage you don't know what else needs done. The seller might get more if he finds somebody that pays too much for a whistle, I'm not one who does.
If the seller want the value of the parts. He needs to break the car and sell it a piece at a time, if not that money belongs to whomever does the breakdown and finds buyers. It is despicable when people try to pass off the consequences of their screw-ups onto others.
