Opportunity to purchase 2007 C70 with 35k original miles

Post by SonicAdventure »

Hi I am currently a V70 owner with the opportunity to purchase a very well maintained 2007 C70 for a fair price with only 35,000 original miles. Owned by a retired couple who had it as a second car.

What are some of the things to watch for on this year and model? I might be going to look at the car soon. I drove the car once and everything seemed like new and I doubt much has changed. I believe it was always garage kept and dealer serviced as well.

Please let me know your thoughts. By the way, it is an automatic, black exterior with gray interior. My biggest concern is that due to low miles, they may not have had mileage-based repairs such as PCV or timing belts done on schedule even though it is a years and mileage schedule. However, if these services have been kept up to date this could be a very good opportunity. Thanks.

There is no scheduled milage for crankcase vent service but that is the thermostat in block 5 cylinder with the crankcase vent assy integrated with oil filter housing. The coolant tank and the thermostat housing are things that age is showing to be pattern failure parts. Garage kept, low miles, and cooler climate of PA may make those pieces have a much longer life than TX cars. That is a nice car. The tops have not been too trouble-prone. The power users can have broken wires in the top harness where the wires have 180 degree bends. Even that is not a widespread failure point.
New belts, includng timing belt, due to age. The serpentine belt can get into timing belt case if it shreds.
