WTS: 93 850 GLT, Indy north, ~133k $400

I'm a "Jeep" guy not a "Volvo" guy so I have no more emotional attachment or emotional energy for this car.

1993 Volvo 850 GLT, 133,490 miles, 5 cylinder, 20V, AT, leather, sun/moon roof, allow wheels, maroon.

Located north of Indianapolis, Indiana.

I'd say it's worth every bit of $400 in parts, so that's my price. Bring a trailer or drive it over to AutoZone and fix the brakes in the parking lot, then drive it home. Engine runs good. Transmission shifts good. Timing belt was replaced by dealer on schedule.

I bought for my son a few years back with ~112k miles on it, but he never wanted to drive, so I drove it for about a year or two, then my next son got it and drove it for about a year or two.

He hit a curb and blew a tire (second time) so it sat for the last 5-6 months. The first time he hit a curb I put all new tires on it which have about 5-10,000 miles on them. I got another new matching $80 tire on it this week, but now the front calipers are dragging from sitting, and I'm pretty sure he bent the front strut - at least that's what it appears to be from the camber of the wheel.

The heater control went out last fall, which I replaced after a long ebay search. Heater is running again, but now it won't switch - all the air is going on the wind shield. AC was working, but now it doesn't blow cold.

A few years ago, I pulled forward at a stop light and the guy in front of me unexpectedly stopped. Bumper took a small hit, but since it was a taller SUV, the hood took the brunt of the 2mph "collision". I replaced the hood with one from a junkyard, but I could not get the safety latch to line up/work. Because of age, I also replace both headlights (one got damaged) and one turn signal.

You can't put more than 10-12 gallons of gas in the car, because the tank/filler hose will leak. No replacement available that I can find. 1-year only part. :(

Paint is all flaking on trunk lid. Hood doesn't exactly match and is scraped/flaking. Doors, hinges, glass is all in very good shape. No tears in leather seats, but some seams need repaired. Driver heated seat not working and power seat is a little flaky at times.

Floor mats look almost like new, I put in all weather OEM floor mats and trunk mat when I bought it, so those are worth good money right there.

The dome light is broken, but I already have a replacement from a junkyard.

The odometer was broken when I bought it (I used this fact to haggle the price from the used car dealer, knowing it was an easy fix), but I set the odometer to the correct mileage per the on-board computer.

One CV joint boot is torn, but it makes no noise yet, so I didn't worry about changing it.

Needs one tail light bulb.

Could use new spark plugs.
