Hi all, I'm hoping there's a way out of this problem. Basically my 99 S70 started throwing transmission codes. Slowly but surely I worked through replacing the faulty solenoids, following this great tutorial: viewtopic.php?t=65527
Today was the day to finish up. Car turned on and didn't explode, which was good, however reverse didn't do much when I tried to go on a test drive. The reverse lights came on, vadis even reports the car is in reverse, it just doesn't move (this would indicate PNP works, right?). Which is odd because drive seems to work perfectly.
Any idea what might be going on? Maybe collateral damage in taking the car apart? Could I have forgotten to reconnect something? Is the transmission on it's way out?
edit: To clarify, I never made it out of the garage. I was just able to roll back a bit in neutral, then drive forward a few feet.

Take a look at this: https://www.volvoclub.org.uk/tech/servi ... gnosis.pdf
Note page 5/38 - go through the chart and make sure solenoid 2 is working. It is odd that the car drives normally - as #2 is needed "on" for 1st and 2nd gear.
Further down the pdf it has all the diagnostic information. Hopefully this applies to your car.

Awesome, yes, its a AW50-42LE -- I'll start working through the doc. From what I can tell from the OBDII/VADIS reports SL1 is off, and SL2 is on. I haven't actually gone on a test drive yet kinda due to not being able to back out of the garage and being nervous about the transmission just giving up completely.SuperHerman wrote: ↑18 Aug 2018, 22:12 Note page 5/38 - go through the chart and make sure solenoid 2 is working.
