Can someone please help me fix my 2001 Volvo S80 TURBO 2.8 L .
I used an advanced scanner to diagnose my check engine light. I have various codes that show permanent faults 903F , 903C,91A7,91B7. They all basically say the same thing, ECM throttle unit, internal fault.
I also have a ECM 1300 MAF SENSOR PERMANENT FAULT as well and 904D PEDAL SENSOR FAULT.
The car is acting like it is misfiring, surging and it jerks when i drive. I really feel it is the throttle body and not so much the MAF OR PEDAL SENSOR.
I want to go to the junk yard and pull a throttle body , but i need to know if i can pull a TB from a non turbo car and secondly, i use car-part.com interchange, and it looks like i can only use TB's from 2000-2001 ONLY. please tell me if this is correct and what to look for on the label from the donor car i intend to pull from. I think many people say look for the yellow label and no programming would be required, it would be plug in and play. please advise.

See this recent discussion involving the ETM: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=86452
and his follow up resolution: viewtopic.php?f=11&t=86715
I am not sure on whether a non-turbo ETM will work - depends if the software is the same. The part number may match, but you will have to do some digging to see if the software Volvo loads (assuming the ETM is the same) is the same for turbo vs non-turbo. If the software is the same it should work, but I have no personal experience other than a slight understanding on how Volvo does things.
That said ETM's of that variety are known issues so buying a used one may be a short lived repair. (Note experience of OP in first link) If you can pull an ETM for cheap enough it might be worth the risk. Look for low miles and same part number. As for "yellow" label or not - I recall that Volvo put an updated ETM in the car due to the failure rate - if the "yellow" label signifies the updated version go with that.
Another option is to see if you luck out and find a Xemodex repaired version - that would be the one to grab.
The sure fire route would be to find a like for like model year and engine candidate, with preference for a Xemodex repaired unit.
Also don't forget to look on CraigsList in your area - even a blown engine may have a working ETM.

Great advise. I will go to the junk hard and look for cars from 1999 to 2001 only . If I see the yellow label or I can recognize a xemodex type ETM I will pull it . I suppose that if I see a Volvo V70 or V80 that is wrecked I would assume that all was good with the car until the time of the accident. I just want to expand my search now..do you know if any Volvo model between 2000 to 2001 like the v70,s60,s40 can work..I called xemodex and they dont sell a repair kit any longer . They sell the complete TB now . They informed me that I if I go to the junkyard to pull a TB I should only get a turbo model TB only. A non turbo will NOT work on a TURBO model car.

Xemodex gave you your answer. I would imagine the only difference is the software installed which some say can be rewritten with the proper tools (I wouldn't go there). If you review the links I provided in my first reply you will find the options to rebuild it yourself. It is not very difficult. You have to make sure the problem you are having is one repairable with a contactless solution - that is something else is not wrong.
Have a look on Ebay - when I was looking a few years back I saw some advertised as being Xemodex modified - at least it will give you a good idea of labels and such.
