vibration felt in the body /seat under load over 50 mph, that reduces or goes away when coasting. this is inconsistent however some days it does not vibrate. vibration in the steering wheel is minimal. tires re-balanced.
I have seen posts about this and to check the half shafts by twisting the left and right shafts at their connectors for looseness.
I will do that asking if there is anything else to investigate?

Make sure to support the car properly on jack stands when doing so. May as well test the awd while there
If replacing dont discard the old driveshafts yet
Id also look at the engine mounts, google a bit about the two torque mounts

I have not checked the front half shafts yet, but thinking this over also planning removing the rear drive shaft and test driving without the shaft in place to isolate the bearings particularly the center carrier bearing.
Is is ok to drive the car without the rear drive shaft in place? and for a long time?
If this is found to be the problem, I would likely just leave the rear shaft off since the rear awd system has not worked for some time and to figure what is not working in the haldex seems overwhelming.

Check front brakes, if caliper pins are sticking that could cause serious vibration if just one pin is sticking. Does the vibration get worse upon acceleration or braking?

vibration is only on acceleration. brakes are good.
because the vibration is more in the car body, and seats, and not the steering wheel, i think it is the prop shaft /center carrier bearing.
to cold here in ny to diagnose it right now, it's 0 degrees.
