We have two loose and slippery key fobs for this XC. Easy to drop and I know they're expensive. Slightly beat up.
I was about to ask if there was a missing or broken bit on mine and took these pics, and quickly realized that's a diagonal hole through the corner, so you can run a ring or something through.
What are some original or clever things to attach it to? I have rings, carabiners, etc.
(Also - some mechanic glued our key blades open because the previous owner must have broken them and then the fob jammed the ignition - at least that's what the repair order says......?)
What is your key fob attached to? Topic is solved

There is a chain with a swivel joint and a keychain on the end of that. My car has those same awful keys. I removed the keychain off of my daily use key and left it on the one I give to service. Do not hang keys or anything on that as it will cause your ignition switch to fail. June

I separated my Fob from all my other keys. I did not like the idea of a heavy weight on the ignition mechanism.
My Fob jammed closed when the spring broke. I was able to get it loose and now I just flip it open when I need to use it. Kind of miss the automated key blade opening, but I would not want them open all the time digging holes in my pockets.
Thought about fixing the mechanism, but have not tried it yet.

I only ever carry a house key, so maybe it's not a deal.
Found a pic - looks like they came with a tiny D ring attached.

I got my car back from service, so here is a picture of my factory key I left the keychain intact for the service department to put the hat number on. This is how the keys came from the factory. June

Ah, thank you. I may fit the small ring and a very short cloth lanyard for something to grab in my pocket.
