Uneven brake pad wear

While replacing belt and front brake pads, I noticed tapered wear on all front pads. As simple fix as replacing caliper?

What do you mean by tapered? I'd replace the caliper only when the piston is hard to push back with the bleeder open. Perhaps undo first the sliders from their bushings, clean everything and use a bit of PTFE silicone grease.

Probably new slider bushings are a good and cheap investment of you do take it apart. They usually come with the correct grease.

Tapered as in, both pads have more considerably more wear on one end than the other. If you were to look at them lengthwise.

That does not sound good - can you try post a picture?

If the piston isn't straight in the caliper bore, that is not going to end well

It'd get stuck if it wasn't straight though. Based on the picture I'm guessing worn bushings causing the entire caliper to tilt when braking.

I should also note there is a fairly slight but noticable tremor when braking and also at medium high speeds.

Put a straight edge on the pad surface and see how close the metal backing plate is to the rotor. When it is within 2mm, you need new pads. Its close now.
