Isn't the S like in S60 stand for Saloon?

Depends on which market you are. United Kingdom, Saloon, North America, Sedan.

I was a told in the beginning when I bought my 1998 S90 which was a improved version of my 960 I was trading that
S=saloon
C=coupe
V=versatile
That was in South Florida in 1998. June
