1998 V70 XC Turbo oil line gasket question 31251456

Post by photoguy »

Okay, this may be a silly question.

I'm replacing this turbo gasket, I ordered the Volvo one (Volvo 31251456), and one end is obviously longer than other, and protrudes a little. Am I supposed to trim this, or leave as is? The aftermarket ones, seem to be sized appropriately.

It was a pain to access this, want to make sure I'm doing correctly.

Thanks much!

When you go to install it, you will find that little extra piece turns it from a 30 minute job to a 2 minute job.

Leave it on as a handle..

Knew there had to be a reason.

Had to remove the drive system just to get to this.

Thank you so much!

wzchtmngr is not going to be happy reading this..

...from my turbo oil line thread... the big tang lets you position the gasket right and get the screws through it really easily.

Perfect! Just what mine looks like.

I was racking my brain, why is this longer? Kept thinking I ordered the wrong part. Now I know.

Funny!
