V70 broken rear upper seat release

My rear upper seat back release lever /slide/ whatever broke and I can't get the seat down. I've watched the vids and read the posts here about it and it seems like all I have to do is push back the upper bolster by the lever, slide a flat blade screwdriver in there and push on the mechanism lever and it will come loose. And the lever is supposed to be black plastic. But I pushed on what I thought was the right part and nothing released. And I don't want to break something by pushing too hard on the wrong part. Anybody got a tip for me? Thanks
