2006 XC70 MAF code, new sensor, no change

Post by terryfil »

Been reading tons of posts about what could cause the rough idle and stalling when cold. That's what I'm dealing with. MIL on, codes for MAF, fuel trim and O2 sensor. Another shop replaced the MAF, no change. I did plugs, cleaned TB and replaced fuel filter, no change. Problem seems a little better when the car warms up. On cold start it runs really rough, like it's missing, then stalls. I've checked for air leaks, haven't found any so far. I'm leaning towards the TB being shot, even though no specific codes come up for TPS or throttle plate, from all the posts I've read, seems like the match to the symptoms. That or the PVC. Anyone have a check for PVC? just take the hoses off and see if it's clean inside?
The car has 235K on it, at the age where it's getting some issue's this one seem particularly annoying. I'll pull the TB again and check the plastic gears in it this time
