engine swap into an s70 glt
hey guys, just curious, i bought a "project" s70 glt for $250 bc it didnt run due to headgasket failure, and i figured what the hell, $250 is super cheap, and worse case scenario ill just part the car out. yesterday was the first day i actually decided to try and mess with it, im almost positive the motor is seized. when you try and start it, it sounds as though the starter is hitting the flywheel, but cant turn it. the car is currently stuck halfway up my driveway, which is a pretty steep incline so i cant jack it up to get the front passenger wheel off to try and handcrank the crank (dont ask me why im so sure of this), so instead i pulled the spark plugs to get a look inside, and cylinder 1 has a bunch of "crud" on the piston that i cannot confirm is rust or not. cylinder 2 has a pool of coolant sitting on top of the piston. at this point its looking like the engine is gonna need more than just a head gasket and other stage 0 items, so im considering a t5 manual swap to save the car from the scrapyard as it is an almost flawless s70 cosmetically. have any of you any experience on this kind of swap? or with getting a seized lpt up and running agin?

Swap in a used engine for 500 bucks and 20 hours labor and you have a nice runner.
A 99 would be even more princely

Yes!
Put in a T5 engine, turbo and ECU (or flash the existing ECU to a T5 tune), drop it in and go! Or swap in the manual trans now as well ... Basically any 95-98 T5 engine, just keep the manifolds and fuel supply setup that is already there.
Replace the rear main seal while the engine is out. Also pretty much a must-do is to drop the oil pan and replace all of the oil pickup tube seals and o-rings inside. $18 now, saves you hundreds and/or major headache later. Volvo branded only on these parts. Good time to do the timing path if it's in the budget or if the timing parts are of unknown age.
