I've had a search around and can't really find the answer.
I want to upgrade my headlights. I have a 2006 V70 with plastic lenses and these are not as good as my last 2000 V70 with glass lenses but there we are, that's progress I guess.
So the question is do I fit upgraded bulbs with the blue tinge to perhaps 100W or do I try the LED bulbs? These LED units 'look' very bright on the cars but do they actually throw down any more light onto the road?
I know the upgraded QI bulbs work as I fitted these to my wife's Golf but perhaps worry now about the extra heat of the 100W bulbs and their life expectancy as we know changing these bulbs is a bit of a pig.

Don't use 100w, also don't use LED/Xenon if you do not have projector lenses. It will annoy upcoming drivers, which is something you do not want.
You might want to investigate into retrofitting lenses into your headlights. Or check if you are able to buy projector units (which will probably be expensive). I also wasn't happy with the light on my S80 and retrofitted lenses (Aliexpress) myself. Fortunately, the glass housing was removed easily (no glue/bitumen), so happy days for me.
Else, invest in good 55w bulbs like Osram Nightbreakers or Philips X-tremevision.
