I used the IPD blue gauge and had 0 complaints. Except price. It is illuminated and dimmed with the rest of the gauges after I wired it into the headlight switch.

I posted something similar a while ago HERE.
Your 05 may have a different trim configuration around the radio, but the older style plain/non-fake wood grain trim “pocket” left of the radio is big enough to mash a gauge in without cutting. Obviously you need to drill a hole in the back for wires & tubing.
My IPD non-R gauge’s action is “notchy” or “springy”, not smooth like my other gauges. It’s accurate & looks nice but the action of it is kinda annoying. eBay cheapy gauges smooth as silk.

i was able to get my hands on a custom fabricated gauge bezel for XC70. i can try to find the contact info if you're intersted, i believe it was $100 for the bezel, painted matte black.
pretty much a stock bezel, with a pod fabricated in place on the lower right, it seamless and looks absolutely flawless.
i then installed a turbo gauge form a 240 turbo, very happy with it.

That looks fantastic. In no small part because it’s an old school 240 gauge. Thanks for sharing and welcome to MVS.

thank you, it works great, the lighting could be a little better in the gauge at night, but otherwise very happy with it. i always wanted a 240 turbo sedan/wagon - but they're so rare, that i decided at least i can have a piece of one this way.
if anyone wants better photos of the bezel/gauge i can snap some. thanks.

I thought I recognized that gauge, couldn’t remember from where.

I posted that a couple weeks ago in the Volvo Classifieds section of the forum. The seller just lowered the price on it. Really surprised it isn’t gone yet.
