I have a volvo 740 gl 1990. I installed a new fuel pump ( In tank) This model use only one fuel pump. It last only five months. A friend told me that this pump do not operate with 12 volts directly , that it uses resistances to lower the voltage to 9 volts. Can somebody told me whats wrong.The pump works but its broken inside and do not deliver the fuel
