So the Shaggin' Wagon's master window switch was decrepit. I had a dead switch with better cosmetics, so I switched the top plates. Now I can lower the front passenger window with the driver's side master, but I can't raise it with the master. Front passenger window raises and lowers fine with the passenger door switch. Any suggestions?

Get a new Master switch. Aftermarket window switches are a exception, other users have reported better quality in aftermarket switches then OEM switches. You can get aftermarket master switches on eBay for ~ $20.00.

So there are no tabs to be bent to make better contact, go back to old top, etc?

SwitchDoctor makes replacements. I still need to return my old one to them - I ran into an issue with the on/off on the bottom having a pin & spring blow through the button.
