and now an oil leak from around the PCV box

I've replaced both front axles, and much thanks to all for the support. Now on to a minor oil leak--

Maybe a year ago I replaced the PCV box and related hoses, pipes, etc. Actually the job went well, but I think I may have a leak from that little short hose at the bottom of the box. On my kit, the hose has a metal reinforcement collar. I lubed it and tightened it down, but I think it may not have seated correctly, and I think that could be my oil leak. My Bad.
So my question is, can I access that short hose for the underside of the car, enough to wiggle it a little and get it re seat? And can I see up from the bottom to see if it is seated right? I'm trying to avoid the tear down from the top route, or maybe jmove the manifold just enough to get back in there...

I kinda doubt it, but to aid in your attempt you can remove the radiator cooling fans super easily. I think it’s just 2 screws near the top & the whole thing just lifts right out. You’ll be working almost completely blind. Do you have access to or own a little inspection camera/endoscope? That would be very helpful in determining where your leak is emanating from.

Check NAPA if you have one nearby, they were clearancing these WIFI HD bore scopes for $50 last time I was in there. It’s awesome!

The first problem is the belly pan is doing a wonderful job of scattering the drip. First step for me is to pull it and wash everything down then let it drip without the pan on. The last time I had it off, I looked as best I could for a leak, and it seemed to be from behind the PCV box. I
ll put it this way - it didn't leak before i did the PCV job

And it seems to leak more when I am up on boost for longer period of times.. Like 30 minutes at 80+Mph.. I have had the fans off before when i replaced to radiator, so I'm good with that. And I am good with working blind. No, I don't have a scope. I should. I have been shoving my $600 iPhone camera into the engine area too often..

I had an oil leak that seemed to be on the “front” (actually it would be considered the “right” side of the motor) of the motor after a PCV job. It only lasted about a week & then it disappeared. I thought it was dripping from the PTC nipple vicinity but it never transpired into further investigation since it went away so quickly. Still not sure how to explain that one. I know one of the 2 Cu crush washers for the banjo bolt was a little crooked/bent from fumbling around with it. Dry as a nuns bush still.

Don’t bother with the HF inspection cameras. I have a couple different ones from there and the resolution is Atari-esque. I was very impressed with the Cal-Van wireless cam. Works good with IOS, you can take pictures, videos, live stream etc. Works great if your 4 year old shoves something in their ear/nose (or other orifice).

Edit: if it’s dark, it’s prolly engine oil. If it’s relatively clear, it’s prolly bevel gear leaking.

Once you have the mud guard off look up at the bottom of the turbo. If you see oil droplets forming on the pipes it’s your turbo oil drain line gasket. Leave it alone til you have the bevel gear off next.

It's definitely from up front and definitely dark and oily (BTW - one thing I don't like about synthetic is doesn't have a oil smell)
Pan comes off tomorrow..
