1998 Volvo V70 needs A/C compressor Topic is solved

1998 Volvo V70 T5 wagon is in good shape. Car cannot be driven because the AC compressor is seized and serpentine belt cannot be used to turn the water pump, power steering pump or alternator. The engine starts and runs well. New Michelin tires and struts. Needs a new battery. It has been sitting for about 4 years in a garage. Can provide extra photos and oil analysis report.

You can put a short belt on that bypasses the A/C compressor.

I am currently asking asking $1000, but I have had an offer of $1200. I plan on installing a belt this weekend and putting some miles on it. Originally, I was going to put a new compressor in it, but I have too many projects at home and work.

Thanks for the video!...I all ready installed the belt and bypassed the AC compressor. Car is back in action. I have a buyer that offered $1500 for it. Hopefully I can close the deal this Saturday. I will really miss this car.

I said good-bye to my V70 today. I think I found it a good home. It is going to be father/son project to repair the AC and fix the exhaust leak. This is a great website and I will visit from time to time. Thanks for all the help!
