Hello Everyone,
My 2001 v70xc is giving a code indicating a bad boost pressure solenoid. I cannot for the life of me find a resource to indicate where it is located on this specific model. Any information would be helpful. I’ve read the forums, and it seems that this item could be located in 5 different places depending upon your model.
Thank you
Boost Pressure Solenoid

It’s clipped to the airbox, underneath the tube that runs from the airbox to the turbo. It has 3 vac lines going to it & an electrical connector with 2 wires.

Double check fitment, but yours should be Pierburg 30670448.

Check the three hoses and the electrical connection before ordering anything. It is very common for the hoses to disintegrate with age - focus on the line going to the turbo.
If you replace the unit or hoses - make sure to mark every hose carefully or change one at a time. It is ever so common to confuse them and reinstall the hoses incorrectly.

Great advice! Thank you both. Hoses were good, and I found the part easily online for 1/4 the price I was quoted at a shop. I appreciate the help! Model specific information for this vehicle is not always the easiest thing to run down. So glad I found this forum!

If someone wants to order the "HD" variant, its this Pierburg one. It's being used on Porsches etc

With the HD TCV’s, I would caution people. The aftermarket non-pierburg HD TCV’s have many reports of failures at early ages. Especially when exposed to colder temps. Also reports of boost spikes etc which in some cases have been purported to be fatal (to the engine).
The general consensus amongst people not selling HD TCV’s is that it is best to stick with the stock Pierburg part number or Pierburg as a brand if going HD. Personally I don’t see the point in a HD TCV; for the average person just keeping their car healthy & running it is unnecessary. Even for a tuned car it’s splitting hairs, HD vs stock.

Hey guys, I got the correctly matched part and did the change in about 4 minutes. Hoses weren’t compromised, clips didn’t break. Cost me $28 to do something my local shop quoted me a price of $225 on. Thank you all for your help!
