Question re: 2000 V70r differential

Is the rear diff for a 2000 V70r interchangeable with any other model? Or is it unique as hell like every other powertrain element?

You really need someone to look up the part number for a V70R diff and then compare to the V/S70 AWD and the V70XC
Of those I believe the 'R' is the only car with a 5 speed auto. The others had a 4 speed auto. Not sure if that would affect the read diff ratios. We need someone with access to Vida to check. My PC with Vida is down for now so can't check for you. Strangely I have a spare in the garage from a 2000 V70R.

Put the VINS into the Volvo web store parts engine and pull up the sub assemblies

Read the fine print carefully on the parts lists.

See that’s the problem, the Volvo parts site is a mess. I get the same part # when I search a 98 and a 2000 v70r.

And yes it would make sense that the rear diff might be different with different transmissions.
