Volvo OEM Original Coil # differences

Post by subzerocarfanatic »

I recently acquired some used OEM Original Volvo coils. They were all supposed to have the same numbers matching. The number is 30713416, this is the number the set has on them except one,it has # 9125601. What is the difference and why do they all have the same number on the rubber plug boot ( 1 220 703 014) which is on the BOSCH rubber coil boot on all of them including the one with the mismatched # ? Are the perimiters different or anything since the 9125601 shows up for 2004 c70, s60 and s80,mine is a 2000 c70 2.3 T.

Volvo does like to use parts number supersessions - so many fitting parts have multiple numbers associated with them

When I did the first pass at the axle part number tabulation, 1996 alone had 15 part numbers for axles.

Abscate is 100% on this. Volvo seem to like generating new part numbers for new models. Then over the years realise the same parts are used elsewhere and spend years consolidating the parts and numbers. I think they may also change part numbers if they go to new suppliers for an existing part.

All a royal pain!
