Prop shaft CV joints

Can these be disassembled on the bench to be cleaned and regreased. Ive got the cover cup off and want to clean out the hard dry grease out and repack them. I'm not sure if I take the race and balls out if I'll be able to get them back together. Has anyone done this? Thanks!

I tried to disassemble an after market axle and was not able. I even had the horseshoe shaped puller and it id not come apart. Original type axle should be able to come apart.

I'm talking about the prop shaft CV joints. That's the driveshaft that goes to the rear Haldex unit. I've got the CV's off the shaft and soaking in Varsol, wondering if I should disassemble them completely to get all the old grease out and clean them before repacking them. I don't know if they come apart without special tools or if I can get them back together. That is the question.

They do come apart. I’d just leave them together though. Clean, blow with compressed air & squirt/pack new grease in there & carry on. New CVJ’s are $75 shipped from Colorado driveshaft & components are extremely high quality, made in Poland and (forgot the other country, but not China. Maybe Turkey?). Rubber grease seal is thicker than original.

Don’t monkey around with the Volvo CVJ’s. They are of equal quality yet 5x the price.

Colorado Driveshafts CV joints are made in Turkey and are excellent quality. They also have great customer service. Both CV joints I replaced on the driveshaft are functioning well after 34k miles.

Cleaned the CV's really good with Varsol and Brakleen and regreased them with CV joint grease. They appear to be in really good shape, as does the center support bearing.
I would like to grease the bearing also. Someone on this forum described greasing this bearing with a needle attachment on their grease gun. I have one of these but can't figure out where to stick it in to get grease to the bearing. Can anyone shed any light on this?

I think I was referring to using the needle fitting to squirt grease into the CVJ endcaps’ pinholes. The hanger bearing just get it as good as you can. They rarely go bad. There’s a little room, but not much.
