I saw this article in Road and Track magazine warning on use of Chlorinated brake cleaners. I knew I did not want to inhale the stuff, but I was not aware of problem burning the fluid.

Same with Freons. Quite inert and don’t burn, but if they get near flame all kinds of nasties get produced

The other issue with Freon when used as an industrial solvent is oxygen displacement - along with what whatever else it does to your innards when you get a noseful.
A Very Large electric motor was being cleaned with Freon in stu aboard another submarine moored next to us back in the early 70s, and when the stuff escaped, three guys were overcome, and it took lots of folks to extract them and ventilate the boat. All three were eventually forced to breathe again, and survived, but all three were medically retired.
