Quick fix for squealing parking brake
I've got a squeal coming from my passenger side parking brake (192,xxx mi). It appears the shoes have de-laminated. Can I remove the shoes temporarily to at least address the noise? In other words, if I remove the shoes and do not replace them, what are the ramifications?

Sure, and maybe put a sticker on the lever to remember not to touch it. Actually, I would remove them ASAP, these are known to break loose inside and destroy the hub - it's quite difficult to replace the hub
