Hazards won't turn off

Received notification through the dash that the front hood was not latched and the hazards came on as a result. I checked the hood and it was latched but now the hazards have not turned off. I've tried disconnecting the battery terminals and re-attaching them but the hazards come right back on. I should also mention the depressing the hazard button does not change this. What are some potential issues here?
